Why we install Mitsubishi

We choose equipment that works well, is reliable, simple to service, and is energy efficient.

Greater Comfort: Mitsubishi’s variable-speed compressors adjust their output as your home needs more or less heating and cooling. Instead of a single-stage furnace that roars to life and blasts hot air, you get a steady temperature.

Utility Bill Savings: Mitsubishi heat pumps are up to 4x more efficient than conventional furnaces. Depending on what you currently use to heat your house and your energy prices, this can translate into significant bill savings.

Upfront Savings: Mitsubishi’s industry-leading efficiency ratings qualify for the highest tier of utility, state and federal rebates available. Blanca capitalizes on every available rebate to save as much as possible for every customer.

Easy Service: Mitsubishi’s reliable supply of replacement parts and technical support matters, especially when your home is outside a major city. When your system needs attention, we can get the right parts and answers.

Designed for Colorado winters—and great for Colorado summers

Your heating system needs to keep up when the temperature drops. Mitsubishi’s cold-climate heat pumps are designed to provide heat in below-zero weather. We select the equipment by comparing its cold-weather heating output with what your home needs, accounting for your location, insulation, windows, and layout.

That work tells us whether your heat pump can handle the heating on its own and whether backup heat should be part of the plan.

When summer arrives, the same system provides air conditioning, adjusting its output as cooling needs change throughout the day. We also account for sunny rooms, upstairs bedrooms, and other spaces that tend to overheat, so your system is designed for comfort in both seasons.

What a system looks like on your home

DuctedHeating and cooling through your existing vents

This is probably you if: Your home has ducts and you want whole-home heating and cooling through familiar vents.

If your home already has ductwork, a ducted Mitsubishi system may be a good fit. An indoor air handler distributes heated or cooled air through the vents, keeping the equipment out of your living spaces. We check the ducts’ condition, size, and airflow before recommending reuse. We’ll also walk through where the outdoor unit will sit and how it connects to the indoor equipment.

DuctlessHeating and cooling where you need it

This is probably you if: You don’t have ducts, or you want to address specific rooms.

Ductless systems connect an outdoor heat pump to indoor units that serve individual rooms or areas. They can work well in homes without ducts, additions, or spaces your current system struggles to keep comfortable. Wall-mounted units are one option; other styles may suit the space. We plan placement around the room’s layout, airflow, and appearance, and show you where equipment and connecting pipes will go.

MixedA combination that fits the house

This is probably you if: Much of your house has usable ducts, but certain spaces need a different approach.

Some homes work best with a combination of ducted and ductless equipment. Existing ducts might serve the main living spaces, while a ductless unit handles an addition or upstairs room. We design the combination around how your house is laid out and where you spend your time. Each area’s heating and cooling needs help determine the equipment, placement, and controls.

Frequently asked questions

Do Mitsubishi heat pumps work in Colorado winters, and how cold can they operate?

Yes. Mitsubishi offers cold-climate systems designed to heat in below-zero temperatures. The exact operating limit and available heating output depend on the equipment combination. We check both against your home’s heating needs before recommending a system.

Will I need a backup furnace, and can I keep my existing one?

That depends on your home’s heating needs, the system we select, and your preferences. Some homes can be served entirely by a properly designed cold-climate heat pump. In others, retaining a furnace or including supplemental heat may make sense. Keeping your existing furnace may be possible after we check its condition and how the systems would work together.

What does Blanca’s Elite Diamond Contractor status mean for me and my warranty?

It recognizes Blanca’s level within Mitsubishi’s contractor program, including training and experience with its equipment. Eligible Diamond Contractor installations can qualify for up to 12 years of limited parts and compressor coverage. The exact terms depend on the system, installation, and registration requirements. Labor coverage is separate and will be explained with your proposal.

Do I need ductwork, and how many indoor units will my home need?

You don’t need existing ductwork to install a heat pump. Depending on your home, we may recommend ducted equipment, ductless indoor units, or a combination. The number of indoor units depends on the layout, room-by-room heating and cooling needs, and how air moves between spaces. We work that out during the design process.

Are Mitsubishi heat pumps loud?

Mitsubishi systems are designed for quiet operation, but sound varies with the model, fan speed, installation, and how hard the system is working. You may hear airflow indoors and the outdoor unit running. We can review the proposed equipment’s sound ratings and discuss placement near bedrooms, patios, and neighboring homes.

Will a heat pump lower my utility bills?

It may, but savings depend on what you heat with now, local energy prices, your home’s condition, and how you use the system. We review your existing energy use to help set realistic expectations. If you’re adding air conditioning for the first time, that added comfort also changes your summer electricity use.

Can the same Mitsubishi system cool my home in summer?

Yes. In cooling mode, a heat pump moves heat out of your home to provide air conditioning. The same indoor and outdoor equipment handles both heating and cooling. We consider both seasons when sizing your system, including rooms that get especially warm in the afternoon.

How much does installation cost?

Your price depends on the equipment your home needs, the number of areas it serves, installation access, and any ductwork or electrical changes. Available rebates may reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Start with a free home assessment so we can measure the house, explain the options, and prepare a quote for your project.

How long does installation take?

Most Blanca installations take 1-3 days. Projects involving electrical upgrades, duct changes, or more than 4 indoor units may take longer. We’ll explain the expected schedule and any interruption to your heating or cooling before work begins.

Which counties do you serve?

We install Mitsubishi systems in Pueblo, Chaffee, Fremont, Custer, Huerfano, and Las Animas counties. Share your address when you request an assessment so we can confirm service availability for your home.
